The Wait

Its funny how now that I'm older I find my self thinking about love. Growing up I was never really in to the Boyfriend thing. I spent most of my time with my family and working on school. I didn't have time for a boyfriend or love.

But now that I'm older I find my self reading, watching and listening to stuff about love.
Loving someone with all of your heart is a big thing And I found myself wondering what is love? Or what is true love? How do I love some one the right way?

I have a purity ring but when I started thinking about it, it goes so much farther then being sexually pure. You have pure inside and out. Your thoughts, your heart...everything has to be pure.

And you have stay true to God, yourself, family, friends and future mate and kids.

These verse helped me a lot!

The Five Commitments of True Love Waits

  • To God: Matthew 22:37 - "Jesus replied, 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.'"
  • To Yourself: Matthew 22:39 - "And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'"
  • To Family: Philippians 4:5 - "Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near."
  • To Friends: John 15:13 - "Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends."
  • To Future Mate and Children: 2 Timothy 2:22 - "Flee the evil desires of youth, and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.
Now I know oh so well how hard it is to wait on "the one" but while I'm waiting I pray that God teaches my heart how to love and to teach my future Husband how to love. To teach us to love the right way.

And you know sometimes I feel like Rapunzel waiting in a tall tower for the guy of my dreams. I understand that feeling
100% but when I start thinking about dating anyone just so I can say Ive been on a date I have to remind myself that I'm waiting for the right guy and I trust God to bring the guy of my dreams in to my life when He and I are ready for each other.

Here are 3 things that help me
  1. Praying about it.
  2. Talking to my mom and dad.
  3. Reading what the bible has to say about Love and Waiting.
what I call "The wait" is a long hard road trip but its worth it in the end.

I hope this helps and Best of luck on your road trip.
